Started in 1988, Special Aerospace Security Services (SASSI) is a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) focused on delivering national security mission solutions to the U.S. Government in support of their vital role in protecting the United States of America. Known for highly interactive training provided by nationally recognized security experts from a wide variety of different security disciplines. SASSI has three operating Divisions that cover all aspects of security services: Integrated Security Solutions (ISS), Health Security Services (HSS), and the National Security Training Institute (NSTI). This position will work with Information System engineers, computer support specialists, and software developers to manage the flow of information among project workgroups during development and testing. The successful candidate must be able to understand and discuss complex information with people of diverse occupational backgrounds. This person may serve on teams that conduct usability studies to improve product design.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Determine the needs of users of technical documentation
Study product samples and talk with product designers and developers
Work with technical staff to make products and instructions easier to use
Write or revise supporting content for products
Edit material prepared by other writers or staff
Incorporate animation, graphs, illustrations, or photographs to increase users’ understanding of the material
Select appropriate medium, such as manuals or videos, for message or audience
Standardize content across platforms and media
Collect user feedback to update and improve content
Additionally, create paper-based and digital operating instructions, how-to manuals, assembly instructions, and “frequently asked questions” pages to help technical support staff, consumers, and other users within a company or an industry.
Two years as a technical writer.
College degree preferred.
Secret Security clearance required and must be willing to get a Top Secret clearance.
